"Attending bootcamp was the best thing I could’ve done. It was a type of cliff-notes version of the material and helped me to formulate a realistic plan of attack for the four weeks I had before sitting for the exam. Bootcamp was also great in the creation of the cohorts (I still keep in touch with mine), and I loved the intimacy of the breakouts with each of the SMEs. Having small groups and the undivided attention of the subject matter expert was so beneficial to the success of bootcamp. The ability to ask questions in a small group setting was very comfortable."
- Tina Nee, CAP, Assistant to the Executive Director, Bill Wyatt
"When I take time out of my workday to go to training it had better make my work more efficient and give me knew methods and ideas to utilize. I don't want fluff! The MEP training was that in spades! I would recommend this training and event for all those that take training seriously and still like to have fun."
- Cindy Tietz, CAP, MEP, Administrative Coordinator to the Dean University of Tennessee Extension
"CAPstone is a wonderful opportunity to get an intense crash course on subject matter that is crucial for those who want to take their administrative professional career to the next level."
- Heather Ladiski, CAP, MEP, OM, PM, Midwest Collaborative for Library Services
"Adding these additional certificates to my arsenal will assist me in being the best Executive Assistant that I can be."
- Michelle Crist, CAP, OM, TA, Executive Assistant Douglas County Economic Development Authority
"The education at CAPstone surpassed all my expectations. On top of having 2 1/2 days with outstanding instructors, I was able to network with like-minded professionals. There is something incredibly empowering to be among "my people!"
- Cindy McGinley, CAP, PM, TA, Administrative Assistant, Langan
"CAPstone was a great way for me to gain a better idea of which domains I needed to spend more time studying, and which ones I was more confident with. The time I was able to spend with the Subject Matter Experts was extremely valuable! I would definitely recommend CAPstone; IAAP staff were very accommodating and made sure we as attendees were getting the most out of our experience at Bootcamp!"
- Courtney Williams, CAP, Executive Assistant City of West Fargo
"I cannot say enough great things about the "CAPstone experience." The confidence I gained, not only in learning the subject matter, but also about the test-taking process, the grading process, and what to expect afterwards, is priceless. I also met some awesome people and made some new friends. I recommend this conference to anyone thinking about taking the CAP exam."
- Mary Lynn Spedding, CAP, Office Manager, Health Strategies Group
"CAPstone-Kansas City 2019 was a great opportunity to prepare for the CAP exam, while meeting new friends! The Domain SMEs were very informative, interactive, and helpful. I now feel more equipped for my test!"
- Joy Wilkie, CAP, Administrative Asst. to Idaho National Laboratory Fire Dept.
"Definitely worth attending if you are serious about attaining your CAP designation. I was able to meet and create new friendships with other peers who are also in my study group. Loved the interaction at our table and having the opportunity to share all of our thoughts and ideas when it came to learning the BOK material."
- Kim Humphrey, Executive Assistant, Clarity Services, A part of Experian
"I wasn't sure what to expect from CAPstone Bootcamp. Once I got there I found myself getting more and more comfortable. I was able to network with some of my fellow attendees and get to know them Sunday night; making Monday morning easier to adjust to working with a group of people that I had never met. When we met with the SME's it was very open and no pressure. Each SME taught a different way, which was great for switching things up throughout the day. I really enjoyed the networking and the learning opportunities I experienced."
- Janaya Lieberknecht, CAP, Sr. Administrative Professional City of Greeley Wastewater Treatment

Planning to take the CAP exam in 2021? Studying for an exam can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially if you are preparing on your own. Unlike in school, when knowledge was delivered by an instructor and you were then tested on that knowledge, certification assesses the knowledge you already possess; this is why there are eligibility requirements to take the CAP exam. Studying helps you put the correct names to theories and concepts you use every day, as well helps you brush up on skills you may not use on a regular basis.

The CAP Study Bootcamp allows you to interact in small group cohorts with fellow test takers, as well as ask quesitons of the domain experts from each of the 6 domains. Cohorts will have the opportunity to learn from and ask questions to the domain experts, share knowledge as a group, and spend dedicated time on personal self-study.

Individuals participating in Bootcamp MUST read through the CAP Study Guide and have a working knowledge of the 6 Domains before attending. Both the hard copy and the SmartBook digital option (which includes quizzes, highlighting features, and more) are available at a discount with conference registration.
